Wedding Set - Jewelery Design

Inspiration and Philosophy

The Wedding set was design for my weeding in 2016. The set is compounded from the headpiece, necklace and earrings. All components have adjustable pieces which can be on or off, and so overall design can create multiple variations during wedding day and evening.

The color scheme is based on the shades of the white and the gold. The beads have pearls and gold color. Some of them have glass reflection. The parts of the headpiece are flowers and silk fabric. The patterns are abstract and mostly in organic shape.

Back part of the neckless is formed be the garlands of beads to decent cover naked back. Similar approach is used for the shoulders. The earrings represent extension of the headpiece and so complete overall design.

The inspiration for headpiece comes from the Slovak culture, where brides used to wear “Parta”, the headpiece with floral motives and with lot of colorful ribbons that cover head. It was part of the bridal gown.  These headpieces ‘parta’ had different sizes. Some of them were big and in different shapes. Each variation represented certain region and folklore costume of different part of Slovakia.

My headpiece was not inspired by any region. It was just adapted idea to cover and renew the traditional folk elements of the wedding gown.
